Love is Work Made Visual
A passionate Salma Hayek was at Cannes Film Festival to present a work-in-progress screening of The Prophet, based on Kahlil Gibran’s philosophical novel.
Turning this 1923 best-seller, into an animation was always going to be a challenge but casting some of the best in the business would have given her the confidence to meet such a feat.
A powerhouse list that reads like an Oscars after party, has Hayek, producing along side Clark Peterson, Jose Tamez and Ron Senkowski. Head director Roger Allers was cast to lead the helm of “A” list animators from across the globe, the likes of Tomm Moore, Joan C. Gratz, Joann Sfar, Bill Plympton, Paul and Gaetan Brizzi, Michal Socha, Nina Paley and Mohammed Saeed Harib, as each mastered a different thematic section of the animated film.
The cast of voices which also has Hayek playing a part is quiet the role call, featuring Liam Neeson, John Krasinski, Frank Langella, Alfred Molina and Quvenzhane Wallis.
No official release date has been set but the social networks are already a buzz with anticipation.
